John Sedgwick Middle School Receives Culture Award

John Sedgwick Middle School Recognized for Culture Building Through Start With Hello Week

John Sedgwick Middle School continues to demonstrate the SK Way and their recent recognition from the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) and the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) amplifies just that. JSMS received the Culture Kickoff Award for their commitment to connection and belonging through their annual Start With Hello Week. WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) Student Leaders selected a week of spirited themes that included the entire school and brought everyone together.
Throughout the week, students took steps in building new relationships and making connections to ensure every one of their classmates felt seen. The spirit week ended in a schoolwide assembly, where WEB leaders showed connection and the importance of being there and noticing one another.
WEB Student Leaders truly exemplify the SK Way (Love People, Know Your Purpose, Get Better Every Day, Think Big, and Attitude of Gratitude). We couldn’t be more proud of the work they are doing at JSMS to ensure every student feels included!
Congratulations to all at John Sedgwick Middle School for receiving this award!
